Caribbean Stud History
Caribbean Stud
Poker is a relatively new game that is catching on in US casinos. It
was invented and first played on the Caribbean Island of Aruba in
1988, later began appearing on cruise ships, and was eventually
adopted by US-based casinos. Caribbean Poker has since experienced
rapid growth in the US in a relatively short time.
• Caribbean
Stud Poker is based on the game of 5 Card Stud which is very popular
in the US and easily recognizable to many players.
• It was
the first casino table game to offer a progressive jackpot. Players
have the opportunity to win a huge sum of money with a $1 side bet.
• All players are competing against the dealer instead
of each other, negating the competitive nature of the typical poker
game.
